On behalf of the PTA, I want to welcome you to Martin. I have been a Martin parent for five years and will be here for five more years so I can tell you that you will survive the next three years which will be years of tremendous growth and change.Martin has an active PTA. We supply the school with volunteer resources and with financial resources. Middle school is different from elementary school as there are only two or three classroom and field trip volunteer opportunities for the entire year. However, there are many more opportunities to volunteer in areas such as the quarterly student recognition breakfasts, bus driver appreciation, the library, test proctoring and the book fair, to name a few. This volunteer support enables Martin to provide our children with a superior learning environment. I challenge each of you to find out where for fit and give a few hours of your time. We have an awesome group of parents!!! JOIN the PTA The PTA has only one major fundraiser which is a magazine drive in early September. Hold onto your renewals through the summer and renew your magazines through Martin – we receive 40% of the renewal rates which are competitive.The Big Red Booster Club is a PTA program which supports the arts and athletics by purchasing uniforms, dance outfits, bleachers, some musical instruments, and many other important things that the county does not provide. The Big Red Club does silent fundraising in the fall. In the spring, they have a great spirit raising event called Mustang Madness which pits parents against staff in a rousing basketball game. Everyone is invited to participate. JOIN BIG RED We look forward to having you become involved here at Martin in whatever capacity you feel suits you!
