Theatreworks USA Presents: Living Voices-The New American, a Journey into Immigration |
Monday, November 13th, 2006 | All 8th Grade teams | Hard times in Europe in the early 1900's forced many people to pull up their roots, and set out for a new life in America. This multimedia presentation will tell the story of an Irish immigrant named Bridget, who travels through Ellis Island to New York's Lower East Side. Through archival film footage and interactions and in-depth discussions with a live performer, the students can make a personal connection to the history of our great country. |
| Glenn McNitt-Origami for Everyone | Wednesday, November 15th-Friday, November 17th, 2006 | All 6th Grade teams | An interactive residency on the beauty, history, and construction of origami. All students will have hands-on opportunities to create origami structures through the direction of Mr. McNitt. |
| StageWorks Theatre Company-The Write Stuff | Monday, January 8th-Friday, January 12th, 2007 | All 7th Grade teams | Interactive theatre and unique class-generated scenarios help prepare the students for the 7th grade writing test. This team of actor/educators present rubrics designed the address the persuasive and argument-themed prompts through interactive activities designed to address both sides of the students' brains! |
