Reading, teamwork, and fun combine to make Battle of the Books a popular competition for students. Besides being introduced to acclaimed books chosen for the North Carolina Battle of the Books list, students learn the importance of working as part of a team.

Martin competes in Wake County Battle of The Books
Congratulations to Martin’s Battle of the Books team for their fierce competition in the county tournament. On March 10th, Martin defeated Fuquay in two overtimes, allowing them to advance to the final four round. Facing a strong Daniel's team, and tying in two perfect matches, Martin lost a close match in the second overtime, and captured third place in a field of eighteen schools! Thanks to the following students for their teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournament: Megan B., Ben C., Fiona D., Akshay G., Andrew H., Hannah H., Kevin L., Elizabeth P., Rachael R., Sarah R., Taylor S., and Abigail S.
