While Martin GT Magnet Middle School does not provide an after school program, there are many opportunities to take advantage of things that are happening here when the school day ends. Throughout the year, different groups or clubs may meet after school. Students and parents can keep current on activities by checking back on the main page of the website. Announcements are also made during the day to alert students of upcoming opportunities. Information also goes home through the Yahoo egroup mailing that is sent out through the PTA. Some examples of groups or clubs here at Martin: Battle of the Books competition, Mock Newbury club, Student Council activities, MathCounts competition, and various management opportunities for sixth grade students on our athletic teams. Our sports schedules are: Fall- Football, Girls Soccer and Volleyball, Winter-Boys and Girls Basketball,
Spring-Boys and Girls Track, Boys Soccer, Girls Softball.
There are some academic enhancement groups, such as the YMCA/Martin Achievers tutoring program that also meets at various times throughout the year. Activity busses are available to students who stay after school for various organized sessions such as those listed above. Students must have a pass fro a supervision activity teacher/coach to ride these busses. Activity busses generally arrive on campus at 4:15, and depart at 4:30. Any daily after school supervision of students is the responsibility of the parents to coordinate. Students must leave campus by carpool, regular yellow school bus, or walking, by 2:30 pm, unless involved in one of the activities sponsored by Martin GT Magnet Middle School.
