The first critical piece of information you need when investigating which Magnet Program would be a fit for your child is to determine eligible school by home address. This link will take you to the Magnet Resource Center page, under which you will find a heading titled, "Applying". Click on, "Determine school by student address". Once you see your specific schools, you can make a more informed choice by clicking on the link for the Magnet Schools Booklet.

Martin GT Magnet Middle School General Elective Registration Information, and Information about Fall Elective Registration for 2008-2009

If you would like to view the elective registration card for rising 7th and 8th grade students, you may do so here. The card size is 8.5 x 14" (legal). Rising seventh grade students will have a yellow card, and rising eighth grade students will have a blue card.

These are the directions that students will receive on the first day of registration, through their homeroom teachers, and you will find it very helpful to review selections in the Elective Course Description Guide, 2008. New 7th and 8th grade students coming to us from other schools will receive their elective materials through their current school during the same time Martin's current rising 7th and 8th grade students are registering. This ensures that all materials for new as well as existing students are filed together for timely processing.
6th Grade Registration directions and cards will be made available on this page as they are prepared for our 6th Grade Orientation Evening. Please visit this page for updates.

Students attending Martin Middle have the opportunity to register for elective classes twice during the year-once in April, for the upcoming Fall Semester-which begins in August-and once in November for the following Spring Semester-which begins in January. Registration materials and directions are distributed to current students at school through their homeroom, and selection cards are returned to the school, within a window of several days. Students should become familiar with the Elective Course Description Guide, 2008, which is distributed to them during the April registration time frame. They should refer to this catalog as they carefully choose their classes. This guide should be kept for reference for the following registration session. Please see our Elective page for more detailed information on the electives we offer here at Martin GT Magnet Middle School.

Once it is determined through the magnet application selection process that a student has been invited to attend Martin for the next school year, the student will receive an invitation to the 6th Grade Orientation evening. The application process for 2008-2009 is now closed, offers have been mailed, and the April 14th deadline for declines has now closed. We are now excitedly looking forward to planning for ALL of our new rising 6th grade students, as well as any new 7th and 8th grade students that will be joining us!

The Sixth Grade Orientation meeting will include distribution of elective registration materials for ALL rising 6th grade students-this means students coming to us as base students, as well as students selected through the application process. All students, including any new 7th and 8th grade students, will also have an opportunity to browse elective departments and speak with elective teachers at this meeting. Martin will be having the 2008 Sixth Grade Orientation evening on May 28th. Please watch the home page for current information.
