ESL is offered to students who are learning English as their second language. The students receive direct English instruction in a small, personal classroom setting.
The students learn about American cultural norms and everyday life. They learn basic social skills in English as well as academic language and skills to help them succeed in and outside of school.
Students generally receive ESL services for 3-5 years, or until the English language is mastered. Student’s English language proficiency is tested annually to measure their growth.
