Skills learned through our Career and Technical Education department at Martin GT Magnet Middle School will prepare students for life!   The Family and Consumer Sciences division includes electives that appeal to students’ desires for practical skills taught with a creative flair. Students can take Creative Cuisine, Interior Design, Sewing, and Child Care.  Exploring Technology is another elective on the cutting edge of career inquiry.  Each unit combines computer skills with hands-on learning to focus on Transportation, Communications, Construction, and Manufacturing.  Students can also get  involved in our Yearbook  production elective.  For skills that every student needs to know right now, look to our electives in the Career division. Keyboarding is a must to help students keep on top of all of the projects and information they will need to process in today’s technologically-based society.  It also prepares students for Business and Computer Technology, the class that will help prepare students for the graduation requirement of passing the computer skills test in eighth grade. Exploring Career Decisions, Exploring Business and Marketing, and Web Creation are other examples of life skill electives students may choose. Look for more detailed information on CTE course offerings in the Elective Course Description Guide!
