Martin Theatre Presents - Mark your calendars now for November 19 and 20, when the Martin Theatre Dept. will present the one-act "A Thousand Cranes" as this year's fall play. The play tells the story of Sadako, a middle-school- aged girl in Japan , who suffered from the effects of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima . The play, which features a bigger-than- life crane rod puppet made by Mrs. Bennett's sculpture class, live Japanese music, a thousand paper cranes made by students at Martin Middle School , and many cultural details, was chosen to support the 7th grade Social Studies curriculum on Asian history, so we hope you will come out and share the evening with us. Both shows begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Martin Auditorium. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door the night of the show. While the shows are appropriate for middle school and older, please understand that because of the sadness of the true story it tells, it may not be appropriate for all lower grade children.
